Our Story
Three Generations of
Latina Vintners
I am a proud daughter of vineyard workers.
My family has been laboring in the Sonoma and Napa wine regions since the late 1940s. They first arrived in America during WWII for the Braceros labor program. This program was created by the USA with Mexico to bring Mexican men and women from small villages to work the American agricultural lands.
From my humble beginnings working in our parents’ vineyard with my eight siblings to growing multiple businesses in the wine industry, my heritage has influenced me to promote diversity in the world of wine. Being born in wine is a privilege. It was also a tremendous responsibility as I felt a need to change how women’s leadership was viewed in both wine and my culture.
Vintner’s Diary is a collaboration between myself, my mother, Maria, and my daughter, Jocelyn. Together, we contribute our talents. My mother with her delicious Mexican dishes, Jocelyn with her artistic video work, and me with wine.
Our mission is to help create a diverse community that comes together for the love of wine.
